Saturday, I visited Terra Valentine Winery with my niece and her husband. Located in St. Helena, Terra Valentine is a boutique winery built with handset stone walls built by Fred Aves during the 1970s. Purchased by Angus & Margaret Wurtle in 1999 to compliment their Spring Mountain Vineyard, Terra Valentine has been reequipped and produces a variety of delicious wines.
I liked the Terra Valentine 2008 Rose. Its nose of rhubarb, watermelon, rainier cherries and apples builds anticipation which is then fulfilled. The well balanced, dry rose with sour fruit notes of cranberry balanced with marzipan and apricot flavors has a great finish. This is a great wine for sharing with friends on the patio. ...Dean Griswold

Super description! I'm not a rose fan, per se, but the TV rose has complexity and substance--yet is soft enough to pair with sauteed scallops.
